As Halloween approaches, I love to transform my home into a spooky haven. The creaky old house on the hill is always filled with cobwebs and creepy crawlies, but I like to add some extra decorations to make it feel even more eerie. I set up fake skeletons in the windows, and hang ghostly streamers from the ceiling. It's the perfect atmosphere for a night of storytelling and trick-or-treating with my grandkids.
I love seeing what creative costumes my grandkids come up with each year. They always seem to outdo themselves, from witches to zombies to superheroes. And of course, no Halloween would be complete without a stash of candy for all the trick-or-treaters who come knocking on our door. I make sure to have a variety of treats on hand, from Reese's Pieces to gummy worms.
As the night wears on, we like to gather around the fire pit for some spooky storytelling. I love sharing old family tales and making up new ones with my grandkids. We also have a tradition of carving pumpkins together, which always ends in a big mess but is so much fun. And of course, no Halloween would be complete without a big bowl of popcorn to munch on while we watch our favorite scary movies.
